Résumé : L'histoire que vit la famille et l'enfant qui est né avec un déficit visuel, nous permet d'aborder à travers un soutien socio-éducatif et psychologique nécessaire, l'étude des conditions requises pour favoriser les entrées visuelles. Le rôle prépondérant ne sera pas donné comme d'habitude à la fonction focale, mais au contraire à la fonction périphérique. Elle seule, par sa sensibilité au mouvement lié à la posture, favorisera l'élaboration de la notion d'espace, à partir de laquelle l'enfant, déficient visuel construira sa capacité grapho-motrice pouvant s'intégrer à la demande du système scolaire banal.

Summary : The daily life of the child born with a visual deficiency and his
family, enables us to tackle the problem of the conditions required to facilitate visual
inputs through a social/educational and psychological approach.
The stress will not fall as before on the `"focal function" but on the
contrary on the `"peripheral function". The child's peripheral function will
make him aware that movement is related to position and help him in situating himself in
space.
Working from a representation of his position in space, the visually deficient child
will develop motor skills toward writing which will meet and fit the demands placed upon
him by any basic educational system.
